Golden Mexican Orange Blossom Hedge Plant Description

The Golden Mexican Orange Blossom Hedge, also known as Choisya ternata Sundance is a vibrant and eye-catching shrub with striking golden-yellow foliage. This evergreen plant adds a splash of colour to any garden, maintaining its lively hue throughout the year. It features aromatic, white star-shaped flowers in spring and occasional blooms in summer, adding seasonal interest. Growing to approximately 1 to 1.5 metres in height and width, it is ideal for creating a colourful hedge or border.

Growth Rate: Choisya ternata Sundance is a moderate grower, adding around 20 to 30 centimetres of new growth per year under optimal conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded position, although it can tolerate a range of soil types.

Pruning Advice

Prune in late spring or early summer, after the main flowering period, to avoid removing potential blooms.

For regular maintenance and shaping, lightly trim the plant to encourage bushier growth and maintain a tidy appearance. This helps to keep the hedge dense and well-formed.

Planting distances are largely a matter of preference.
