Monroe White Lilyturf is an elegant and low maintenance perennial that brings both beauty and resilience to shaded garden spaces. This clump forming ornamental grass features arching, dark green foliage that remains evergreen throughout the year, offering structure and colour even during the colder months. In late summer to early autumn, it produces tall, striking spikes of pure white flowers, which create a stunning contrast against its rich green leaves. Following the flowers, small purple black berries appear, providing further seasonal interest as the plant matures.

Growing to a height of around 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16 inches), Monroe White Lilyturf is perfect for small spaces, borders, or as ground cover. Pruning Advice

Pruning: In late winter or early spring, cut back the foliage to around 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) to tidy up the plant and encourage fresh, healthy growth. Removing dead or damaged leaves will also help maintain its appearance. This is best done before new growth begins in spring.

Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but ensure the soil drains well to avoid waterlogging. Once established, Monroe White Lilyturf is relatively drought tolerant.

Feeding: Apply a balanced, slow release fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth and flowering. Avoid over fertilising, as this can lead to weak, leggy growth.
